A client portal your clients can actually use.
Traditional client portals ask people to register, verify an email, and remember yet another password before they can do the one thing they came to do: hand you a file. docfury skips all of that — clients get a private link and go straight to uploading.
Portals are supposed to help clients — most just add a hurdle.
A conventional client portal sounds convenient until you watch a real client try to use one: create a username, choose a password that meets some hidden rule, find the confirmation email, click the link before it expires, then finally log in and figure out where to click. Half of your support requests end up being "I can't get into the portal," not anything about the actual documents.
Your team pays for that friction too — resetting forgotten passwords, re-sending invite links, and manually onboarding every new client into yet another system just so they can do something as simple as upload a PDF.
docfury keeps the part clients actually want — a private, organized place to send you files and see what is still needed — and removes the part they don't: the account. Every request is its own secure link. Open it, upload, done.
All the portal, none of the setup.
A private, per-request link does the job a full account system usually does.
No registration step
Clients never create a username or password. The link you send is already tied to their request — opening it is the entire "login" process.
A real checklist, not a blank inbox
The link opens straight to the list of documents you need, with clear status on each one, instead of a generic file drop with no context.
Nothing for clients to forget
There is no password to reset and no account to recover, which means fewer "I'm locked out" messages landing in your inbox.
Still private and access-controlled on your side
While clients skip the login, every file lands in encrypted, access-controlled storage tied to your firm — the security lives on your side of the link.
Client portal FAQ
If there is no login, how is a client's upload kept private?
Each request generates a unique, hard-to-guess link tied only to that client and that request. Files uploaded through it are stored in encrypted, access-controlled storage that only your firm can access — the privacy comes from the link and your storage, not from a client password.
Do clients need to download an app or create a profile?
No. The portal experience is a single web page a client opens in any browser. There is no app to install and no profile to fill out before they can upload.
What happens if a client loses the link?
You can resend the same request link from your dashboard at any time — there is no separate password-reset flow to walk them through.
Can a client come back later to check on their request?
Yes. The same link stays valid for the life of the request (up to 30 days), so a client can reopen it to check status or add anything still missing.
Is this secure enough for sensitive documents like tax forms or IDs?
Yes. Removing the client login does not remove security — uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest, and links are scoped to a single request rather than a general-purpose account.
